Unfortunately, canon doesn't lay this out for us. We all seem to agree that
  • a witch / wizard whose parents are Muggles = Muggleborn (Hermione Granger)
  • a witch / wizard who has one pureblood parent = half-blood (Harry Potter)
  • a witch / wizard with two half-blood parents = half-blood
  • a witch / wizard with completely pureblood ancestry = pureblood (Ron Weasley)

Whether a child of a Muggleborn witch and a Muggleborn wizard is half-blood or Muggleborn may depend on whom you're asking. In other words, Bellatrix Lestrange would say Nell Talbot is a Muggleborn, though her parents were both magical. Cecily Crabtree, on the other hand, has called Nell a half-blood.

Examples of the similarities to 'Nazism' And other race related things Can be found in many epic fantasy's (Its quite common, and as JKR is considered among the elite with Tolkein and Lewis, who both had these elements in their stories its not surprising she does too.) though none so pronounced as JKR's Example one of nazi like things (Even in Briton.) was the treatment of anyone (IE Vampires, Werewolves Hags, Centaurs.) Was much like how the Germans, treated Gypsies, homosexuals, blacks and just about anyone who was different from them in the 1930s-40's

As for the blood types.

The Potter Family is almost all pure blood, even with harry as a half blood, he marries a pure blood. But due to his muggle relations which we can assume will forever go on down the road due to duddikins, he'll always be a half blood, even a hundred years after he dies.

In order pure blood family to be pure, they must marry pure bloods, now to use Bellatrix Lestrange and her sisters examples, Narcissa married into the pure blood family Malfoy, Bellatrix into the Lestrange, however the third sister Andromdeda or however you spell it, married a Muggle born Ted Tonks, therefore part of their family is now half blood (Starting with N.Tonks.) So even though two of the three made what would be considered 'Proper.' Marriages, the third did not, thus ruining the family tree in the eyes of the blood purists, and the only way to remove what voldy called a canker would be to kill the offspring. So in the end Unless your a true muggle born, almost everyone is related. The pure blood families are based in part alot on the Royal house of England and other country's which inter married to keep them selves more 'Royal.' and didn't taint the families worth with Peasant blood. alot of Rowlings elements in that aspects come from things in the real world.

Voldemort isn't very consistent in his definitions of and reactions to half-bloods.

In the case of Tonks, a Muggle father seems to mean she's Muggleborn and should be eliminated.

In Voldemort's own case, he eliminated his Muggle father, and, leaning on his Slytherin ancestry, passed himself off as a pure-blood.

In Snape's case, his Muggle father seems to be no problem at all.

Of course, this is Voldemort were talking about. I'm not going to trust his judgment.
