Name: Alexander Kennedy
Desired Position: Head of Magical Law Enforcement
Experience: 28 years as an Enforcer
Role Play your New Position:
Decades. Two and a half decades. That's how long Alexander had been employed by the Ministry and that's how long he'd been a Law Enforcer. Now finally he was no longer just an Enforcer, he was a Head of Department. Quite a long way up the ladder after all these years. The dedication and hard work had clearly paid off.
Alexander may have been privately educated, but he liked to think he'd had no more advantage than anyone else. He'd started off on the bottom rung, and over the years slowly climbed the slippery ladder (not a pole this time). He'd had an equal chance with every other man and woman. He was a working class boy, he still knew his roots.
As he settled in behind his new desk, on which a photo of his family proudly took centre stage, Alexander lifted the latest (and his first) reports out of the top drawer and began to read them. It strange looking at them through the eyes of a recipient. He'd written enough of them in his time, but seeing the death and destruction, the theft and bribery, the threats and slander on mass, page after page, seemingly never relenting. Well. It chilled your bones. And now that was his job. To clean up the streets. And guess what. That's what he was going to do.
About halfway through the reports someone knocked on his office door, and he looked up, to see Enforcer Nelson, himself a twenty year veteran of the department was pointing at a piece of parchment in his hands, and mouthing through the glass window.
Alexander stood up and opened the door, "Yeah what is it Nelson?"
"Sorry, boss, but the some woman's been found dead, in Hammersmith. Her place is a complete tip, and it looks like she took a bit of beating before, she died. Looks like murder."
Alexander snatched the parchment out of Nelson's hand and scanned through it to absorb all the necessary information. "Right I want a team of five, ready to go in four minutes. Then anyone else who isn't on a case already, is to get out on the street, and find their grasses. Shake them down for information, I want names, addresses, whispers, whatever they've got.
Try Sid's cafe on the Lambeth road. Usually a few in the know characters hanging around there. Slip them a few galleons, they'll tell you the winner of the next Prophet prize draw."
Nelson nodded, and began scurrying from desk to desk, talking to the other enforcers. That had felt good. His first order. His first case as Head of Department. Power really did feel a little drug like, if Alexander knew what drugs felt like. But assuming it was like power, he could understand why people took them.
