The Rumour of the Elder Wand - 2000
Harry Potter has been assassinated, just two years after his victory against the Dark Lord Voldemort in 1998. Except, nobody knows who's done it. Now someone other than Potter owns the all-powerful Elder Wand. The Ministry have taken it from Dumbledore's tomb and placed it in a safe, secure location, where no one could possibly find it. However a rumour has already started: The Elder Wand is in Hogwarts.
More Detailed Plot
On the Eve of January 12th, 2000 Harry James Potter was assassinated at the Burrow - the Weasley Family Home. In the dead of the night the murderer(s) silently broke in and used the Avada Kedavra killing curse on Potter. This effectively made the ancient magic of wand lore activate. Harry's ownership of the Elder Wand has now ceased and the murderer has become the new owner.
The Ministry, after interrogating and torturing the information of the Elder Wand from Ronald Weasley (leading to his death) have removed the Wand from its resting place in Dumbledore's tomb and placed it in a secret location. Many people are suggesting the wand could be in Hogwarts, although nothing is certain. The Weasley Family and the Grangers are being held in the Department of Mysteries as they are considered to be "National Threats." Now the whole world has gone upside down. Some people think the Weasley's killed potter, others think it was suicide - the alternative is even more scary - a madman is roaming the Wizarding World; and it could be another Dark Lord.
Factions are forming, people within Hogwarts desire the Wand. Some people fear it. Some even want to destroy it. The Ministry fears another Dark Lord's uprising. But there are threats within Hogwarts. New teachers are taking positions, mysterious people who wish to possess the Wand. The Ministry has learned of the other Hallows and is scouring the world for the Invisibility Cloak and the Ring.
Meanwhile the madman stirs. He silently works his evil on weaker minds, designing his way to the unison of all three Hallows so he can become the Master of Death.
